NEAR OAKRIDGE, OREGON -
Two lost travelers spent the night inside a flipped truck before being rescued.
According to Oregon State Police, Cassi Jones and Glennis Burke, both in their 50s, got lost last night while traveling along Waldo Lake Road near the Willamette Pass Ski Area. Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jones lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the road, struck a guardrail and hit several trees. When the Ford F-150 came to a stop, it did so on its top.
It wasn't until Friday morning, around 7:45 a.m., that a passing motorist spotted the crashed truck and called police. The two were extricated from the wreck and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said that before their unexpected night in the truck, Jones and Burke were traveling to Wickiup Reservoir to meet family on a camping trip.
