Man hospitalized following incident with machete - KPTV - FOX 12

Emergency crews hospitalized a man following an incident involving a machete in Northeast Portland.
It happened at about 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Aero Vista Apartments on Northeast Killingsworth street near Cully.
That's when officers responded to reports of a man with a machete.
Officers said witnesses told them the armed man might have fired a gunshot, and was now in an apartment.
Police tried to contact the unidentified man, 29, in that apartment, but he refused to come outside.
Officers decided to leave because the man was alone in the apartment and work to contact him later.
As officers were leaving, the man left the apartment and ran through the neighborhood.
Police quickly set up a perimeter, located the man and took him into custody.
Officers seized the machete, other knives and 9mm handgun ammunition. However, they did not find a gun.
Crews took the man to a Portland hospital on a mental health hold.
