Man confesses to unsolved murders from the 1970s

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police said a man called authorities in Texas and confessed to two unsolved Portland murders from the 1970s.

Detectives arrested Jeffrey Cutlip over the weekend in Brownsville, TX.

Police said he admitted his involvement in two slayings. One dates back to 1975 and the other occurred 1977. Investigators haven't released the victim's names or information about the crimes.

Cutlip is in jail awaiting extradition to Portland.
