A Tualatin neighborhood has become the target of thieves committing "smash and grab" car break-ins, according to the Tualatin Police Department.
Over the past weekend, a total of seven cars were burglarized in a community of homes near Interstate 5, detectives said.
Neighbors tell Fox 12 that their area is targeted on a regular basis, with thieves breaking car windows and taking whatever is inside.
"Typically, every few months there will be a break-in," Tualatin resident Wendy Dillre said. "A few months ago it was the house down the street."
Tualatin Police said the thieves are looking for anything they can grab quickly and sell online. They recommend that car owners avoid leaving anything of value in their vehicles.
