WENATCHEE, WA (KPTVO -
Search planes are circling a wide swath of Washington state in the hunt for a missing plane.
Ed Jeffko planned to fly his homebuilt plane from Tonasket to Sequim, WA, early Monday. But after he failed to land, Jeffko's family called authorities.
Planes have been searching the entire area from Tonasket to Sequim, but to no avail.
Now in their second day of search operations, flight crews are taking a closer look in the Cascades, but weather has made flying difficult.
Jeffko did not file a flight plan nor has his plane's emergency beacon been located.
Rescue teams are now turning to the public for help. They are asking anyone who may have seen Jeffko or his aircraft to please contact the search base in Wenatchee at Missingaircraft@wsdot.wa.gov or (360) 410-7757.
