The six people charged in a deadly hit-and-run will be in court Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing.
The alleged crime happened back in March when Ashley Chavez ran down Nancy Schoeffler on Burnside. Police say Chavez was drunk and left Schoeffler to die.
Police are calling the case an elaborate conspiracy to cover up the crime, saying all suspects tried to hide evidence of the hit-and-run.
After a two month investigation, police arrested Chavez's passenger, Angela Kaps-Collins.
In addition to Kaps-Collins, the following people also were arrested: Josh Chavez, who is Ashley Chavez's brother; Christopher Rhea, who is Ashley Chavez's boyfriend; Jose Alberto Torres, who is Ashley Chavez's co-worker; and Billy Collins, who is Kaps-Collins' husband.
Trial is expected to begin Thursday.
