PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
FBI agents served a series of federal search warrants Wednesday morning at three homes in Portland.
The search warrants were served at homes near NE 31st and Alberta, NE Eighth and Buffalo, and N Greenwich and Bryant as part of an ongoing investigation regarding a violent crime, an agency spokeswoman said. She would not go into detail about the crime.
Evidence was seized from each location, the spokeswoman said.
People were home at each location when the search warrants were served, but there have been no arrests in the case, she added. A spokeswoman said people were temporarily detained while the warrants were being served.
Neighbors on the three different streets woke up to the sights and sounds of the investigation.
"'Open the door, this is the FBI," described Lauren Radcliffe. "It was just like you would think it would be on television."
She told Fox 12 she saw armed agents surround the house around 6am.
"They were kinda positioned strategically around the yard, and they had one guy in the yard on his knees, in his underwear with his hands zip tied around his back."
Fox 12 has looked into the property records of the homes involved. Neighbors said the home on NE 31st was being rented. The other two homes had gone into default and had been scheduled to go to auction, according to Multnomah County.
It's not known who was staying inside the homes at the time of the raids.
The search warrants in the case have been sealed, according to a spokeswoman for the FBI, as the "ongoing violent crime investigation" continues.
"Violent crime..that sends off all my warning alarms as a mother," said Radcliffe.
FOX 12 will update the investigation as soon as the FBI releases more information.
