TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -
An early morning fire caused $50,000 in damage to a Troutdale home.
Firefighters were called out to the fire at 3800 S.E. Pelton Ave. at 3:30 a.m. Thursday. When crews arrived, a garage was fully engulfed inflames.
The fire made it into the attic before firefighters were able to get to it. Gresham Fire Department crews were able to save the living areas of the house.
Firefighters had the whole thing out within minutes.
Two adults were home when the fire started. They were woken up by a smoke detector and made it safely out of the house.
Nobody was hurt.
Neighbors said they were awakened by the sound of the fire crackling. They reported seeing large flames shooting out from the building.
The cause is still under investigation, but investigators believe it is accidental in nature.
The estimated damage is $50,000.
