NEWPORT, OR (KPTV) -
Two men and their two dogs were aboard a 48-foot fishing when it crashed into the north jetty at Newport Sunday night. Both men survived, but the two dogs were presumed to have drowned.
Turns out, another fisherman rescued one of the dogs, a 6-month-old pit bull named Camo, and took him to the animal shelter.
Shelter workers said Camo was very hungry when he arrived, but other than that he is perfectly fine.
Shane Lague, Camo's owner, was ecstatic to be reunited with his dog Thursday and said he is surprised Camo survived the harsh water conditions considering his young age.
