Downtown drug store workers chase down robbery suspect

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Workers at a downtown Portland drug store are credited with chasing a robbery suspect and holding him until police arrived.

Employees at Central Discount Drug on Southwest Fourth Avenue told police Jocelin Olson, 27, entered the store just after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Olson allegedly threatened to kill everyone inside unless they gave him drugs and cash.

The workers said he claimed to have a gun, but no one actually saw one.

When Olson tried to leave, the store owner reportedly got his own gun and ran after him along with an employee. They got Olson on the ground and stayed on the scene until police got there.

Officers arrested the suspect and took him to the Multnomah County Jail.
