SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
An SUV crossed the center median on Interstate 5 in Salem and slammed into another oncoming SUV.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday north of Market Street.
Police said Michael Nopp, 22, of Keizer, was driving his 1997 GMC Jimmy north in the left lane, when an unidentified car attempted to change lanes toward him.
Nopp steered left out of his lane and lost control. His SUV crossed the raised center median into the southbound lanes and crashed nearly head-on with another SUV.
A Toyota 4-Runner driven by Aaron Doria, 25, of Orem, UT, overturned onto its top after the collision.
Both drivers and a passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
No citations have been issued, but the investigation is continuing.
