WEST LINN, OR (KPTV) -
A fire ripped through a West Linn home Monday morning.
People started calling 911 at 8:30 a.m. to report 50-foot flames behind a house at 2855 Jolie Point Rd.
The backside of the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene. The fire had also gotten into the attic space.
The home sits on the property of the West Linn Lutheran Church. A married couple lives there and they were just recently assigned as caretakers for the church property.
The man who lives in the home was there when the fire started. He got out safely with his dog.
Firefighters had to be especially careful, after finding an energized power line on the ground behind the home.
PGE was called out and a worker cut the power.
The cause of the fire isn't yet known. The home suffered significant damage.
