PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of killing a woman inside her Portland apartment is back in Oregon after being arrested in Seattle.

Mark Beebout was booked for murder and theft charges Monday at the Multnomah County Jail.

He was caught by U.S. Marshals and is accused of killing a woman on Belmont Street.

Police said Nikayla Powell invited Beebout to stay with her after meeting him through a volunteer program that helps the homeless.

Powell's body was found on July 10 and the medical examiner determined someone killed her.

Officers who arrested him last Thursday said he had the victim's car, dog and credit cards with him.

He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of murder, theft 1, fraudulent use of a credit card, unauthorized use of a vehicle and tampering with evidence.

Beebout was previously arrested in May in Multnomah County and charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
