PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Portland woman pleaded no contest to charges of filing a false rape report.
A judge sentenced Angela Gilbert, 43, to two years of probation, 80 hours of community service as well as mental health and drug treatment.
She also has to pay a $1,000 fine to the Multnomah County Sheriff's office.
Prosecutors said it is still unclear why Gilbert made up the story.
Her reported claims prompted fears of a rapist in the Columbia River Gorge, and triggered a search and criminal investigation costing thousands of dollars.
Prosecutors said this wasn't the first time Gilbert lied to authorities.
She also falsely claimed that she was robbed while shopping, according to prosecutors.
Gilbert was not charged in that case.
