NEWBERG, OR (KPTV) -
A three-alarm fire burned at a Newberg paper mill on Tuesday.
The fire was first reported at around 4:30 p.m. at SP Newsprint. Within 45 minutes, firefighters had called for a third alarm to get more personnel to the scene.
The fire spread through paper bales in a large warehouse.
Firefighters worked with mill employees to remove as much paper as possible from the immediate area while crews attempted to control the blaze.
The pulp and paper mill is at 1400 Wynooski St.
According to the company's website, SP manufactures newsprint and paperboard.
The company's Newberg facility is one of two it operates in the U.S. The other is in Dublin, GA.
Firefighters said no injuries have been reported.
