VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
Two women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Vancouver.
Police said Marlene Salvey, 56, of Vancouver caused the crash.
The use of alcohol and medication were factors in the collision, according to investigators.
It happened just before 8 p.m. Tuesday on East Fourth Plain Boulevard at the Interstate 5 overpass.
Patricia Clooten, 63, of Centralia was in the left turn lane preparing to take the I-5 north entrance.
Police said that's when Salvey crossed into the turn lane and hit the other car head-on.
Both women suffered serious injuries. Officers said they don't appear to be life-threatening injuries, however.
Vancouver police are continuing to investigate.
