A wildfire burning in central Oregon has now covered more than 10,000 acres.
The Lava Fire is threatening four buildings and has now torched 10,500 acres, according to the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center.
A lightning strike started the fire about 15 miles northeast of Fort Rock on July 23.
The expected containment date is not until Aug. 15. The fire is 30 percent contained as of Wednesday.
Smoke may be visible in the areas around the fire for several weeks if the weather remains hot and dry.
