Terry Yancy
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
One man was arrested after Portland police forced protesters in front of city hall to clean up their property and move on.
Three weeks ago, police warned the protesters they had to move their belongings off the sidewalks by 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Several members of the Occupy Portland movements and other demonstrators have been protesting homeless issues and local living conditions there for several months.
The transition was mostly peaceful on Wednesday.
Terry Yancy, 45, was arrested and charged with interfering with a police officer.
All abandoned property left around city hall was collected and taken to the city's Stanton Yard facility in north Portland.
Police posted fliers letting the protesters know their belongings are not being thrown away, and people can go to the storage facility and pick them up.
The property will be held at Stanton Yard for 30 days.
