McLoughlin Blvd. lanes reopen after rush-hour crash

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck shut down Highway 99E northbound in southeast Portland on Thursday.

The crash happened during rush hour, at about 7:19 a.m., near Tacoma Street in the Eastmoreland neighborhood.

All northbound lanes of the highway, also known as McLoughlin Boulevard, closed to allow for police and paramedics to respond. Traffic was detoured northbound at Ochoco Street, then to Milport and to 17th Avenue.

The motorcycle rider, who was conscious and alert after the wreck, was taken to a hospital to be treated. The severity of his or her injuries is unknown.

Portland police said the pickup driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No citations have been issued so far.

All lanes of the highway reopened at about 9:20 a.m.
