PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Two Portland teens were arrested on gun charges in two unrelated incidents.
The first arrest took place Sunday in the Parkrose Heights neighborhood of Northeast Portland. That's where Gang Enforcement officers approached Gregory Spencer, 18, as he stood on a corner. After consenting to a search of his backpack, officers found a semi-automatic handgun. Spencer was then arrested on unlawful gun possession charges.
Later that night, in an entirely unrelated incident, Gang Enforcement officers made another weapons arrest in the Mill Park neighborhood. Police pulled over a car at Southeast 117th Avenue and Washington Street to find three occupants, one of which was just 13 years old. The teen was asked to step out of the car and when police patted him down, they found a loaded handgun in his waistband. He was then arrested and sent to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home.
His case is being sent to the U.S. Attorney's Office for possible federal charges.
The two other men in the car were arrested as well.
