PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Detectives said they arrested two local men accused of working together to scam people out of nearly $200,000.
Kyle Higgins, from Tualatin, and Clifford Puterbaugh, from Beaverton, are facing several charges in connection with a Ponzi scheme.
A Ponzi scheme is when con artists trick people into putting their money toward fake investments.
Authorities say Puterbaugh was the mastermind behind the plan.
He's facing 28 charges ranging from aggravated theft to securities fraud.
He's being held on $2 million bail.
Investigators think there could be more victims out there and are asking them to come forward.
