
Police arrested a man early Friday morning who is accused of driving the wrong way down Interstate 5 near Brooks.
Oregon State Police began receiving complaints from drivers around 1 a.m. about someone driving the wrong direction in the northbound lanes.
A trooper spotted the 1995 Plymouth Voyager north of Brooks driving at freeway speeds in the inside northbound shoulder toward his patrol car.
The car stopped near mile post 265.
The driver has been tentatively identified as Flaviano Velasco-Alavez, 25, of Gervais.
The Marion County Jail is trying to positively identify him through fingerprints.
He is facing charges of DUII, reckless driving, unlawful possession of a forged instrument and failing to carry or present a driver's license.
