HAPPY VALLEY, OR (KPTV) -
A woman killed in a shooting at a Happy Valley home was described by co-workers as "the heart and soul of the office" at the Portland law firm where she worked.
Norma Perrone, 62, died in the Sunday night shooting and her daughter, 29-year-old Gina Perrone, was wounded.
A child home at the time of the shooting was taken into protective custody and was not hurt, deputies said.
Deputies first started investigating the shooting when Gina Perrone called 911 at about 10:30 p.m. By the time deputies arrived at the home on Southeast Hobart Court, the suspect, Jason Hogan Jr., had escaped.
Hogan and Gina Perrone are in a long-term relationship and have a history of domestic violence, authorities said. They have recently been living at the home on Hobart Court with Norma Perrone.
Deputies said Hogan has an extensive criminal history, including arrests for assault, kidnapping and escape, and they said he should be considered armed and dangerous. A manhunt is currently under way.
Hogan may be driving one of two vehicles: a silver 2002 VW Golf with
license plate 924DQG or a dark blue 2006 Hyundai Elantra with license
plate 161DMY with damage to its hood. Anyone who sees Hogan or one of the two cars is asked to call 911.
Anyone with information on Hogan's whereabouts is asked to call
503-723-4949.
Norma Perrone worked at Davis Wright Tremaine in Portland for 15 years
as a human resources coordinator. Co-workers said the law firm is devastated by the loss.
She was a huge motorcycle enthusiast, friends said. Her husband died last year after a lengthy
battle with illness.
