VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

One person was killed when his truck collided head-on with a van in Vancouver.

It happened at 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Northwest Lower River Road.

Vancouver police said a pickup driven by Alberto Perez Garcia, 25, crossed the center line and slammed into a van heading west.

The van, driven by Emiliya Shevchenko, 27, had a total of nine people onboard.

Perez Garcia had died by the time emergency crews arrived. Police believe alcohol was a factor in his causing the crash.

The passengers in the van were all taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Five adults and four kids were in the van.
