PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Highly-trained military crews paid a visit to a children's hospital Monday, where kids had their toys delivered to them by a helicopter.
The U.S. Air Force combined a training exercise with a goodwill mission Monday afternoon, when they dropped a load of toys at Randall Children's Hospital in north Portland. Combat rescue officers and para-rescuers delivered the toys right to the kids' rooms, and kids got to shake hands and talk to the real-life heroes.
Para-rescuers are the most highly trained emergency trauma specialists in the military, and combat rescue officers help evacuate injured servicemen from the front lines.
The U.S. Air Force decided to do the toy drop to give back after a squadron member's child was treated at Randall Children's Hospital.
