MEDFORD, OR (AP) -
A Shady Grove woman who dumped a Crock Pot of hot water on her boyfriend pleaded guilty Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court to assault and recklessly endangering another.
The judge sentenced 51-year-old Terry Lynn Hatfield to three years' probation and ordered her to stay away from intoxicants and the victim.
The Mail Tribune reports the man who suffered second- and third-degree burns in the June incident spoke in court on her behalf.
He said the couple had been arguing about money, but he didn't think she intended to scald him.
Hatfield told the judge she had been intoxicated at the time and didn't remember dumping the slow cooker's contents onto her boyfriend.
