Wasco County sheriff's deputies recovered the body of a missing teenager from Eugene.
Search crews discovered the body of James Hawkins on Monday morning.
The 19-year-old had not been seen since Sunday while out swimming in the Columbia River.
According to witnesses, he swam from the Oregon side to a small island near the base of The Dalles Bridge.
While on his way back, Hawkins' friends said they saw him get pulled down river by a strong current.
The Skamania County Dive Team helped pull the teen's body from an area just west of Water's Edge.
His family has been notified.
