NEAR SISTERS, OR (KPTV) -

A fire is burning near Lake Billy Chinook, about 15 miles northeast of Sisters.

It was reported just after noon on Monday.

The ODF Sisters Unit deployed six engines to the so-called Geneva 12 Fire, with four fire crews, a bulldozer, water tender and air support from two helicopters.

According to the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), the fire was mapped Monday night at 1,341 acres and is 30 percent contained.

Approximately 100 homes were evacuated yesterday afternoon, but the evacuation order was lifted about 10 p.m.

No structures were damaged or lost within the Three Rivers subdivision, ODF officials said.

However, the fire torched a pickup and utility trailer within the fire perimeter near Geneva Road.

No road closures were in effect Tuesday morning, although the public is asked to stay out of the area to avoid impacting firefighting traffic.

Work continued on Tuesday throughout central and south-central Oregon detecting fires that may have been ignited during Sunday's extensive thunder and lightning storms, ODF officials reported.
