GERVAIS, OR (KPTV) -

Marion County deputies are looking for a driver who ran from the scene of a serious injury crash in Gervais Monday night.

Investigators said two cars were stopped on the shoulder on Howell Prairie Road Northeast and Mount Angel-Gervais Road Northeast at 11:30 p.m.

They were hit from behind by a 2001 Dodge Caravan.

Deputies said the van also hit three people who were outside the cars trying to jump-start a dead battery.

The driver of the van and a passenger ran away from the crash scene, according to deputies.

They headed south on Howell Prairie Road.

Evidence from the van suggests they both suffered head injuries in the crash. Investigators also found several open alcoholic beverage containers inside the van.

A man and woman suffered serious injuries in the crash. A third woman was treated for minor injuries.

A 3-year-old boy was secured in one of the cars and was not hurt.

The Dodge Caravan is registered to someone in Gervais.
