TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

Tigard police said a Durham teen is under arrest for stabbing a gas station employee in the face with a screwdriver.

Investigators said an employee at the Astro gas station at Pacific Highway and Walnut Street called 911 Monday afternoon when a fellow employee arrived with a stab wound to his face.

Detectives believe the victim was walking near Main Street and Commercial in Tigard when he was stabbed. Officers found the screwdriver near where the attack was reported.

The victim was taken to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital for treatment.

Police said they later arrested the 17-year-old suspect. He was taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home in Portland where he was booked on an assault charge.

Investigators said the attack may have been in retaliation to a previous fight involving both the victim and the teen.
