PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Portland man is expected to return home Wednesday after getting shot while helping a teen.
Marcus Jones, 61, is recovering after being shot twice in Tehachapi, California, near Bakersfield.
Jones was helping friends move to Las Vegas on Sunday when he drove past a fight.
California police said the fight escalated and a boy, 16, got stabbed.
Jones stopped his car to help the teen, but the suspect who stabbed the teen then pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting Jones twice, police said.
Jones suffered wounds to his shoulder and ear, crews took him to a local hospital.
Police said the stabbing victim is recovering and is out of a hospital.
Officers are still trying to track down the man accused of shooting Jones and stabbing the teen.
