PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Portland Police Bureau is asking for help in locating Jonathan Byrd, 52, who was initially reported missing on Aug. 4 from his Northeast Portland home.
Family members say Byrd is suffering from a medical condition that could possibly cause him to pose a risk to his own safety.
Missing person detectives say Byrd was seen near his residence Tuesday afternoon but left in his van before police or medical assistance could be summoned.
Byrd is described as a white male, 52 years old, 5'11," 200 pounds, with short, salt-and-pepper hair and hazel eyes. He no longer has a mustache and goatee as shown in his attached photo, but may currently have a few days' growth of facial hair.
Byrd is believed to be driving a green, 1996 Mercury Villager Van with Oregon license plates UXK 823.
Anyone who knows of Byrd's current whereabouts is asked not to approach him, but to immediately call 9-1-1.
Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, at 503-823-0446.
