ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -
The southbound lanes of Interstate 5 were shut down near Albany after a crash involving a driver going the wrong way.
Police said the driver of a Ford pickup had a diabetic-related medical emergency just before 10 a.m. Wednesday near milepost 228.
The truck went across both southbound lanes, into the center median facing north and then kept going the wrong way on the highway.
The truck finally came to a stop after a collision with another vehicle.
A witness at the scene broke out the passenger side window and turned off the ignition.
Troopers and medics helped control the diabetic episode until the driver's condition returned to normal.
No citations were issued.
The southbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes after the crash.
