Log truck crash closes highway near The Dalles

THE DALLES, OR (KPTV) -

A log truck crash closed down Highway 197 near The Dalles on Thursday morning.

It happened just before 7 a.m. about five miles south of The Dalles.

Troopers said a loaded log truck was heading north near milepost 5 when the trailer tipped onto its side traveling through a curve.

The logs broke loose into the southbound lane and a car collided with them.

Two people in the car were hurt and taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

One lane was expected to be open later in the morning while the investigation continued.
