SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

Police said a man claimed he was stabbed outside a McDonald's restaurant in Sherwood.

Now that man is facing charges of initiating a false police report and disorderly conduct.

Jamie Hearing, 31, of Nehalem, was arrested and lodged in the Washington County Jail on Thursday.

On Aug. 2, police responded to the McDonald's at 21335 S.W. Sherwood Blvd. at 9 a.m.

According to officers, Hearing told police he was stabbed in the back by another man when he got out of his car. He said that man also stole his wallet.

After investigating, police determined the stab wounds were self-inflicted.

No details have been released about how or why Hearing stabbed himself, or why he reported it as a crime.
