BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A TriMet bus driver has been cited for careless driving after a crash Friday morning.

Beaverton police said the bus was out of service at the time and heading east on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway when it crashed at the Lombard Street crossing.

The bus hit a railroad support pole with safety lights. Part of the structure toppled over onto the roadway.

There was no one else on the bus and the driver was not hurt.

The road was closed for hours after the crash.
