Gresham rallying behind Little League team

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Gresham is rallying behind its Little League team.

Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis is encouraging local businesses and other groups to put up messages on reader boards and in windows supporting the team.

The local baseball players are one game away from the Little League World Series.

Gresham won 6-2 Thursday night in a semifinal game of the Northwest Regionals. They now move on to the championship matchup against Idaho.

The winner of that game will represent the Northwest Region at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.

The team will have plenty of people watching. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN at 1 p.m. Saturday.
