WARRENTON, OR (KPTV) -

The Coast Guard dispatched a Jayhawk helicopter Friday evening to rescue a 16-year-old boy who was clinging to a rock face about 3 miles north of Manzanita.

Rescuers responded to the scene at 6:20 p.m. to the cliff located at the south end of Smuggler Cove in Oswald State Park.

A Coast Guard rescue swimmer was lowered down and strapped himself to the boy. The two were then lowered to the safety of the beach where a local emergency medical crew was waiting.

No serious injuries were reported.
