PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
More than 18,000 people will walk or bike across the Willamette when all 10 bridges become open to pedestrians around 5 a.m. Sunday.
You must register at providencebridgepedal.org to participate.
If you just need to get around, here are directions to avoid blocked bridges:
To go northbound on the freeway through Portland: Take Interstate 405.
To go southbound on the freeway through Portland: Take Interstate 5.
To go across the Willamette: The Morrison Bridge and St. Johns Bridges are open in both directions.
Here's the full list of traffic changes:
| Morrison Bridge: | OPEN both directions. |
| St. Johns Bridge: | OPEN both directions. (Traffic restricted to one lane each direction 7-11 a.m.) |
| Fremont Bridge: | CLOSED upper deck (I-405 southbound) 5 a.m. to noon. Access to bridge by cyclists ends at 11:30 a.m. OPEN bottom deck (I-405 northbound) throughout the event. |
| Broadway Bridge: | CLOSED eastbound 6:15 a.m. to noon. |
| Steel Bridge: | CLOSED eastbound 6:15-11 a.m. MAX will be running. |
Burnside Bridge: | CLOSED westbound 6:45-11 a.m. |
| Hawthorne Bridge: | Westbound lane open. CLOSED eastbound 6-10 a.m. (note: outside eastbound lane will close Saturday evening) |
| Marquam Bridge: | CLOSED upper deck (I-5 northbound) 5-11 a.m. I-5 northbound traffic will be routed to I-405. OPEN lower deck (I-5 southbound) throughout the event. |
| Ross Island Bridge: | CLOSED westbound 5:30-10:30 a.m. |
| Sellwood Bridge: | CLOSED westbound 5:30-9 a.m. |
| Southwest Salmon Street: | CLOSED from 14th to 18th avenues 5 a.m.-3 p.m. |
