RUSSELL LAKE, OR (KPTV) -
Search and rescue crews with the Marion County Sheriff's Office have spent the last three days searching for a man reported missing near Russell Lake.
Officials said Ronald Ohm, 52, became separated from a group he was hiking with on Thursday.
The group was hiking a ridge around Russell Lake on Thursday afternoon when Ohm decided to linger behind to take photographs.
Search crews said the others went ahead to the lake and established camp but Ohm failed to show up.
On Saturday, two Civil Air Patrol aircrafts added to the search as dozens of searches scoured the ground. The Oregon Army National Guard provided helicopters to assist with the search as well.
Crews have been working a 15-by-20-mile search area, which is fairly remote and isolated.
Ohm is considered to be an experienced hiker who was equipped with supplies to last him through Sunday.
He also had a tent and sleeping bag and has hiked the area before.
Officials report that cell coverage in the area is non-existent.
Temperatures in the 80s along with steep terrain and the elevation of the area is adding to fatigue of the searchers.
Crews planned to continue the search for Ohm on Monday morning.
