ESTACADA, OR (KPTV) -
A man competing in a competitive lawn mower race was rushed to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital after a crash Sunday.
The crash happened during the Mt. Hood Lawn Mower Races in Estacada.
One of the drivers took a corner too wide and went head-first over a bale of straw used as a protective barrier.
He was taken to the trauma center. His condition is unknown at this time.
Officials at the lawn mower race track said they take safety seriously and require all drivers to wear helmets, neck braces and gloves.
