Vancouver police arrest convicted sex offender on child porn charges

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit arrested a convicted sex offender on several child porn-related charges.

Vancouver PD said 21-year-old Samuel McMullen was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Monday in Cowlitz County, where he lives. He faces multiple charges for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography.

Investigators said they received a tip last March that child pornography originating from Colorado was being shared in Washington. In June 2012, detectives served a search warrant at an apartment in the 6400 block of Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver. Evidence seized from the apartment resulted in Monday's arrest.

McMullen has been booked into the Clark County Jail.
