VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
A registered sex offender is now facing child pornography charges.
Samuel McMullen, 21, faced a judge in Vancouver Tuesday.
He was arrested Monday afternoon in Cowlitz County, where he now lives.
According to court documents, investigators served a warrant at his previous home in Vancouver on June 26.
Several items were seized, including a laptop computer.
Detectives said it contained numerous images and movies depicting sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
In March, investigators said they found a peer-to-peer file sharing account that was traced back to McMullen's Vancouver apartment on the 6400 block of Fourth Plain Boulevard.
Court documents show that a movie downloaded from that account was the same as one found on McMullen's computer.
The detective said he immediately recognized the name, due to McMullen being a convicted sex offender.
He was convicted in Clark County on one count of voyeurism in 2006.
He was also part of an investigation in 2011 accusing him of possession and distribution of images that sexually exploit children.
McMullen is now facing multiple child pornography charges.
