Nearly 200 people took to the interstate for a memorial ride in honor of Norma Perrone, the Happy Valley woman shot and killed earlier this month.
Perrone was an avid motorcycle rider who made many friends through the Portland Roadrunners and Vancouver Coyotes groups.
Those members participated in a memorial ride from Latus Harley-Davidson in Gladstone to Multnomah Falls Tuesday evening, a ride friends said was one of Perrone's favorites. After the ride, they held a candlelight vigil at the base of the falls.
Also in attendance were family friends and co-workers from law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, where Perrone worked in human resources.
Perrone was shot and killed at her Happy Valley home on Aug. 5. Jason Hogan Jr. is facing charges of murder and attempted aggravated murder. Investigators said he also shot Perrone's daughter, Gina, who is his girlfriend. Gina Perrone was hospitalized, but is improving every day, according to friends.
Nearly 200 people attended the ride and vigil.
"She was well loved. This definitely shows that she touched a lot of people, definitely," said Bill Brown, a family friend. "Not only in her own little community, but everywhere. Everywhere she went, she was well loved."
Brown said the community support is helpful for the family.
"Everybody says good things come out of tragedies," he said. "It's pulled a lot of good people together."
A memorial service for Norma Perrone will be held Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Eastridge Church in Clackamas.
A fund to benefit Gina Perrone and her son is set up at U.S. Bank in Gina's name.
