Troopers seek witness to deadly Brownsville crash

BROWNSVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police are looking for a witness to a deadly crash near Brownsville Wednesday morning.

It happened at 10:40 a.m. on Highway 228 near milepost 9, about three miles east of Brownsville.

Troopers said a pickup driven by a man was heading north and attempted to pass an unidentified witness on a curve.

The pickup then crashed head-on with a car driven by a woman.

At this point, Oregon State Police have said one person was killed and another was injured. Troopers have not revealed which driver was killed.

Highway 228 was blocked after the crash with a detour put in place.

Investigators want to talk to the witness who was passed by the pickup.
