PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Firefighters were called out to a report of an explosion and fire in southeast Portland Wednesday afternoon.
Now, arson investigators are calling the fire suspicious.
The report came in at 2:20 p.m. from 4536 S.E. Woodward St., between Division Street and Powell Boulevard.
Crews arrived and said the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters searched the home and said no one was hurt. Two adults and two children live in the house.
The fire was burning on the first and second floors, as well as the basement. The fire ripped apart a staircase that connects the basement with the first floor.
The cause isn't yet known, but police said a person was seen running from the house into the neighborhood.
He is described as a white man in his 20s. He was wearing a black shirt, black jean shorts and black baseball cap.
He was riding a bike with "ram style" handle bars, according to witnesses.
