GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -
The Gresham DMV office is closed until further notice as the DMV assesses damage from a weekend fire in the building where the office is located.
The office, located at 2222 E Powell Blvd., received smoke and possibly other damage in the fire early Saturday morning.
While the Gresham office is closed, DMV staff have been reassigned to nearby Portland-area DMV offices.
The DMV recommends that people first check www.OregonDMV.com before they visit an office in person. Customers can complete some DMV business online or find out how to prepare and make their visit as efficient as possible.
Gresham-area customers who need to visit a DMV office in person use an office in Gladstone, Sandy or Southeast Portland.
