Foster parent accused of more sex crimes

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV/AP) -

New charges have been filed against an Oregon foster parent who was convicted of sex abuse.

James Coonrod, 63, of Beaverton was initially charged in 2010. He is serving a five-year prison sentence at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says detectives have since received complaints from four additional females who say they were raped or sexually abused by Coonrod when they lived in his home.

The alleged abuse occurred between 1994 and 2007, and the girls were all younger than 10.

The new charges include rape, sex abuse and unlawful sexual penetration.

If convicted, Coonrod's prison sentence could be lengthened by decades.

Washington County Child Abuse Detectives believe there are more victims that have not come
forward. Detectives ask, if you have any information, to call the Washington County
Sheriff's Office at (503) 846-2500.
