BANKS, OR (KPTV) -

Two drivers were cited by Oregon State Police after a head-on crash shut down Highway 26 near Banks.

A 1998 Volvo station wagon driven by 36-year-old Jason Costa, of Bend, was headed east on the highway when it collided head-on in the westbound lane with a Subaru Forester driven by Kevin Neal, 53, of southwest Portland.

Costa, who said he moved toward the westbound lane to avoid another vehicle, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He was cited for driving while suspended.

Neal was taken by ambulance to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited to appear in court on charges of driving under the influence, driving while suspended and recklessly endangering another person.

The highway shut down ahead of the Monday morning commute for about 90 minutes.
