DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A fire burning through the Deschutes and Umpqua national forests sent one firefighter to the hospital.

The Butte Fire started Aug. 14 and the cause remains under investigation.

The injured firefighter was airlifted to a Bend hospital this week after being hurt by a falling tree. The firefighter was later released after a medical evaluation.

Crews said the fire has burned 142 acres, with 118 acres of that in the Deschutes National Forest.

It is now 80 percent contained and firefighters list the estimated containment date as Aug. 24.

Even though it's in extremely difficult terrain, firefighters said the potential for growth is currently low.
